The district's appeal rests on concentration. Marina District groups a number of substantial properties within a short distance of each other, which makes comparison easy and makes moving between them practical rather than theoretical.

Inland waterfront resorts with larger footprints and easier parking. Within the Atlantic City boardwalk and marina districts it works as a market of its own, with its own rate calendar and its own mix of property types.

Pricing follows the district's own calendar. Conventions, sporting fixtures, and holiday periods drive the biggest swings, so flexibility of a few days is worth more here than any loyalty scheme.
